The Kawai K200 is the first in the new K-series of upright pianos from Kawai. The new range features a longer key allowing more dynamic control whilst playing.
The soundboard on the K200 is tapered, like a grand piano so one end is thicker than the other. This is because bass and treble frequencies travel at different speeds. With a tapered soundboard this means the sounds reach you at the same time meaning a fuller and richer sound than that of any upright without a tapered soundboard.
